Doctors may be forced to pay an extra $25 a year in registration fees to fund their own health advisory program.
As part of a proposal to roll-out the Victorian Doctors Health Program (VDHP) across the country, the Medical Board of Australia is considering raising registration fees to cover the cost (link).
The health program which costs $500,000 a year, is currently being funded through the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria and offers doctors and medical students a telephone helpline and as well as help to facilitate referral treatment.
