Rates of prescriptions of antibiotics to children under nine may vary as much as 16 times from one part of the country to another, a new report suggests.

The Third Australian Atlas of Healthcare Variation 2018 finds that children in some low socioeconomic areas in large city suburbs are the most likely to be prescribed an antibiotic by their GP.
